Minjoo Kim is a lighting designer on a never-ending quest to explore the endlessly fascinating nature of light. Working across Korea, China, and the United States, she has developed a strong visual sensibility and refined technical precision in her design practice.

Her work has been seen at The Public Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Signature Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, Wilma Theater, Woolly Mammoth, Olney Theatre, Studio Theatre, City Theatre, and Kansas City Rep.

Minjoo Kim is an assistant professor in the School of Theater at George Mason University. 

 

She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.

 

Her design for The Royale was selected for the 2023 Prague Quadrennial National Exhibition.

She received an M.F.A. in Lighting Design at the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Theatrical Design at Chung-Ang University in South Korea.
